On this episode I take a look at the cactus pear or prickly pear fruit. It has many names but its own unique flavor. This episode will introduce you to the cactus pear and show you the best way to peel and eat it.

Dear Ray,
I have been enjoying "Produce Picker Podcast" for several months. You have a great sense of humor; and I learn a lot.
We live in Israel, and there are a lot of exotic fruit varieties here. We are usually pretty intrepid at diving into new tastes. But I was grateful that I had seen this episode about peeling the prickly pear before allowing a 14-year-old to get his hands full of spines. (Added bonus: he thinks I'm a genius.) Thanks!
Ruti,
Thanks so much for your comment! It's great to have people participate at the blog. I'm so glad you enjoy the episodes and many more should be coming soon. It's amazing to hear from a viewer in Israel, glad to see I'm really getting out there:)
I'm glad you were able to save your son from getting a bunch of spines in his fingers and really glad I helped you look smart. Feel free to comment and email anything you like. I also get smarter from my viewers.
Thanks again,
Ray
